Beer and Food


I’ll be posting some notes regarding beer and food. A common conception is that wine is the ultimate pairing beverage with food. While some wine does pair nicely with certain dishes, beer provides more variety, style and breadth of pairings than does wine. This is due to several reasons; carbonation, varying alcohol levels, wide selection of ingredients, and water content, to name a few.

The first post in this series introduces the flavors beer offers from style to style to help understand why beer pairs well with food. Future posts will focus more on specific pairings, hopefully one post per week.
